I found my first air plant at a small seashell shop in San Diego in 2009. I thought it was one of God’s coolest creations ever, another plant that needs no dirt. I already loved bamboo, which thrives in water only.
I’ve had the plant for over 15 years and have marveled at its life cycle. It took a while to adapt and mature after I got it, so it was always green. Imagine my surprise when I found little purple flowers! (I did not know they did that! 😊)

I now want to create a love of them in others. This is partly why Annie’s Plants was born, not just to sell arrangements, but to “bring a little life to your world”.

Then came the “pups” … out of the leaves babies formed, one, then another, and then another. As they grew I removed them, but more developed.
Now I was hooked. I educated myself and bought different varieties. There are over 600 of which I have about 50. Some are soft and wispy while others have stiff leaves. There are tall ones, short ones, and alien-looking ones – each unique and beautiful.
I now want to create a love of them in others. This is partly why Annie’s Plants was born, not just to sell arrangements, but to “bring a little life to your world”. That’s what they’ve done for me and I hope they do for all who decide to own them. With minimal care, you are rewarded with a unique and beautiful part of our world.
As for my original plant, she’s still bringing me life! Pups #13 & #14 are almost ready to face the world on their own!
